Katie Hardy-Jensen
Rachel McPherson
Rachel is a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Law at the University of Glasgow. Her work focuses on legal responses to violence against women and she has particular expertise in legal responses to intimate partner homicide. She is also a member of the Women in Law Project which advocates for the future of women in law in Scotland and across the world.
Susie Stein
For almost 20 years Susie has worked in voluntary organisations in varied roles, providing trauma-informed support and managing services for people affected by violent crime. She is the Chief Executive Officer at Scottish Borders Rape Crisis Centre (SBRCC) and has been in this role since 2014. She brings experience and proficiency to the RCS Board in governance, feminist leadership and management, fundraising, HR, change management, participation and engagement, and training.
Shalini Nair
Shalini Nair is an academic at the University of Glasgow and a member of the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research. Her work focuses on sexual violence in India, including a Leverhulme Trust–funded project on justice for marital rape survivors. She brings an intersectional and anti-racist approach to gender justice, drawing on over two decades of experience as an award-winning national journalist and researcher in social policy and gender. She previously served as a Director on the Board of Survivors’ Network, the Rape Crisis Centre in Sussex, England.
Lynsey Mitchell
Lynsey is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Strathclyde. She researches human rights law with a focus on women’s rights and reproductive rights. She has established expertise in reproductive rights law and policy and was a member of the Scottish Government’s Abortion Law Review Expert Group. She has worked with a variety of charities and organisations in Scotland in various capacities and brings experience in governance, policy and legal oversight.
