Scottish Women's Rights Centre - free legal surgeries
The Scottish Women's Rights Centre is now offering free legal surgeries to women in Glasgow and Lanarkshire.
The SWRC legal surgeries are available by appointment and offer free legal information and advice to women survivors of gender based violence. This is a broad term which encompasses a range of crimes against women including sexual crimes, domestic abuse, stalking, harassment (including sexual harassment), trafficking, forced marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM) and others.
Support workers are also available should women wish to engage with them following the legal appointment and can signpost or refer women on to support services for on-going emotional and practical support.
The Glasgow surgery is based in Glasgow Rape Crisis Centre working in partnership with the Support to Report project: The Glasgow surgery runs on Mondays 10am – 1pm. Tel: 0141 552 3201 for an appointment.
The Lanarkshire surgery is based in the Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre working in partnership with the North & South Lanarkshire Violence Against Women Partnerships. The Lanarkshire surgery runs on Thursdays 10am – 1pm. Tel: 01698 527 006 for an appointment.
The Scottish Women's Rights Helpline continues to offer free legal information and advice across Scotland, every Wednesday afternoon from 1.30 – 4.30pm, available on Freephone 08088 010 789.
