STAR Centre (Kilmarnock): Sexual Violence Prevention Worker, Support & Advocacy Worker and Support Worker
The STAR Centre is a small, independent charity working to provide free confidential and non-judgemental support to
survivors of sexual violence across Ayrshire who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their
lives.
Since its inception in 1987, The STAR Centre has provided support work, advocacy, information for survivors, family and friends, as well as stress and anger management. We offer information and awareness raising presentations and workshops to the voluntary and statutory sectors as well as to other relevant professionals.
The STAR Centre is currently recruiting for the following three posts (click on the link for each one for full details):
Sexual Violence Prevention Worker
The STAR Centre requires an experienced Prevention Worker who will play a crucial role in the development and growth of the service.
The overall aim of this post is to develop local strategic approaches to sexual violence prevention, and to deliver
interventions to young people around healthy sexual relationships using the Rape Crisis Scotland sexual violence
prevention pack.

The overall aim of this post is to provide support and advocacy to survivors who are engaged, or considering engaging, with the criminal justice system following an experience of sexual violence.

Support Worker
To provide direct person-centered support to individuals affected by any form of rape/sexual abuse as well as to the partners/parents of survivors of rape, sexual abuse and/or violence.
The post will be based at our centre in Kilmarnock but will deliver out-reach support within Ayrshire as necessary.
