Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre: Counselling support worker

Established in 1978, Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) provides a support, information and advocacy service for women, non-binary people, members of the trans community and young people aged 12 and over in Edinburgh, East and Midlothian who have experienced recent and/or historic sexual violence, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and commercial sexual exploitation. We also work in schools and with young people across Edinburgh and the Lothians, and strategically with multi-agency partners, towards preventing sexual violence.

We have a vacancy for a skilled and experienced Counselling Support Worker to deliver our dedicated outreach support, information and advocacy service for women and members of the trans community in East Lothian who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives.

Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre: Senior Counselling Support Worker (Young People’s Project)

Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre is looking for a skilled and experienced Counselling Support worker to lead our Young People’s Project, the STAR service. The post-holder will be responsible for line-managing and supervising staff and volunteers delivering specialist counselling and support services, art psychotherapy, and advocacy as required, to anyone aged 12-18 who has experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives. The post-holder will carry a counselling support caseload, and will work alongside ERCC’s management team to contribute to the operational and strategic leadership of the organisation.

Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre: Counselling Support Worker (Universities Outreach Project)

Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre is looking for a skilled and experienced counselling support worker to provide specialist counselling support and advocacy to students at Edinburgh’s Universities who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives. The post-holder will take an approach informed by an understanding of trauma (including complex trauma), and will work on an outreach basis at the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier University, Heriot Watt University and Queen Margaret University.

This post is funded by the four Universities until 31 July 2022.
