Local rape crisis centres

There are local rape crisis centres across Scotland. They are free and confidential. Although not every area has a centre, you can contact any of them for help and advice. Some centres offer outreach – that is they travel to other towns and villages in an area. All centres are independent and their services vary. You can phone, write or email.

Services

Rape Crisis Centres will give you time to talk. They will listen to what you say and give you information, for example about your options. They can offer:

• Phone, email and face-to-face support: this can be one off or over a long period
• Information and advice about all aspects of sexual violence, the law, health and medical issues and so on
• Accompaniment: to hospital, clinics, police station, court and other services
• Groups, workshops and therapies such as aromatherapy and relaxation techniques
